1916 – 1967
BORN AS A BRAND
Kappa’s story began in Turin in 1916 as Maglificio Calzificio Torinese (MCT). Originally producing socks and underwear, the company officially introduced the “Kappa” brand in 1967.
With bold moves reflecting youthful rebellion and changing fashion, the brand quickly rose to popularity in Italy.
1969
THE OMINI LOGO
One of the world’s most famous logos was born by chance. In 1969, during a Beatrix swimwear catalogue shoot, a boy and a girl sitting back-to-back caught the photographer’s eye.
That silhouette became the “Omini” logo, symbolizing equality and mutual support. Today, it’s more than a logo — it’s a global icon.
2000
THE KOMBAT™ REVOLUTION
In 2000, Kappa changed football. The Kombat™ 2000 kit made for the Italian National Team was the first tight-fitting jersey made from an elastic fabric that opponents couldn’t easily grab.
It was not only a performance leap, but also a visual revolution. Since then, Kappa has remained a leading brand blending function with football style.
